Idaho Woodcarvers Guild
The Idaho Woodcarvers Guild, Inc. was
established in the spring of 1980 when Maxie Mayhew, Tony Smart and several
other individuals interested in woodcarving met to discuss the start of a
carving club. The IWG club meetings are held on the 2nd Thursday of every month (September to June) at the Woodcraft store in the Overland Park Shopping center, on Overland Road in Boise, Idaho. An informal group of carvers meets on all other Thursdays of every month of the year to promote woodcarving in the Treasure Valley.
The initial small group of members has since grown over the years to its present membership size of 43 members. They include a number of award winning and world class carvers, woodturners and instructors who have given many carving students their start.
